Where It All Began
Salt & Sol Voyages began long before it had a name. Years ago, I surprised my mother with a birthday cruise – a simple idea meant to give her a fun trip and a break from everyday life. What I didn’t expect was how that one cruise would hook us both instantly. From the moment we stepped onboard, something clicked. Watching mom soak in every moment, from the quiet mornings at sea to the excitement of exploring new ports, reminded me just how powerful travel can be. We had never really vacationed much growing up, so this was a whole new experience for the both of us. I always laugh when I tell others the story of how our cruising adventures began and say “HELP – I have created a cruise monster out of my mother!” Never in a million years did I think that one 5-day birthday cruise even missing one port due to weather would turn into a full-blown adventure obsession – but honestly, I’m so glad it did!
That trip opened my eyes to the magic of cruising – the joy, the relaxation, the sense of wonder that hits you the moment you step onboard. One cruise turned into many more, and eventually into a passion I knew I wanted to share with others.
